Although this is a very nice image, your depth of field is a little too broad for this type of macro shot and the pedals of the flower seem to be out of focus. (It is 2:30 in the morning so it may just be my vision! lol) I really like shots like this, but it lacks a little character. Have you done any post processing to this image? Adjust the WB and enhance the color and this will be a sharp image, even out of focus it would be a nice shot. Another option that I would recommend is to use selective coloring for this shot. Make it a B&W and bring the color back to the pedals, sharpen the image a bit and this will be a winner. I love macro shots, and at times, very hard to see if the image is really in focus, even thought the camera 'tells' you it is. Lower the focal ratio, get closer to the image and if you're using a tele-zoom- zoom in slightly to create a better depth of field. Remember, depth of field is the area of your image that IS in focus. Try different angles also. I think you're going in the right direction, but needs to be cleaned up a bit. Good job overall. Keep it up and submit more photos!
